Image for Hynt a St David Award Finalist

Hynt was recently a finalist at the 2025 St David Awards in the Culture category. Although we didn't win, it was a huge honour to be shortlisted in such a strong line up of people and organisations, all making a positive difference to the lives of people in Wales. The culture sector is facing tough financial challenges and it's good to see the Welsh Government continuing to place an importance on culture in Wales at this time.

The impact of Hynt on Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent visitor experiences over the last 10 years has been powerful. The scheme has enabled venues to not only provide a more consistent offer for our cardholders and their essential companions but has given theatre and arts centre staff the knowledge and skills to welcome a diverse range of audiences into their spaces. Hynt helps remove barriers to people experiencing live performances. We're proud to have been part of making culture more accessible and equitable in Wales and we're excited to see Hynt develop over the next 10 years and beyond with All In.

Congratulations to photographer David Hurn who won the St David Award for Culture and to our other fellow finalist, broadcaster Beti George. We were delighted to represent Hynt on behalf of everyone who makes our work possible, including all our cardholders, member venues, associate organisations, the Arts Council of Wales, Diverse Cymru, The Card Network and the Creu Cymru staff team. Just to be in the room was an amazing recognition of the importance and impact of the scheme.

We were humbled to be in the presence of so many life-changing, life-improving, and lifesaving changemakers at the St Davids Awards at the Senedd on 27th March 2025, where we were joined by Maggie Russell, Chair of the Arts Council of Wales, and shared a table with the Minister for Culture Skills, and Social Partnership, Jack Sargeant, and a real life Olympic medallist. It's heartening to be part of a nation that celebrates people who demonstrate and embody empathy and fairness, who value education, volunteering, public service, kindness, teamwork, and removing barriers to people enjoying full lives.

Hynt is an Arts Council of Wales initiative, managed by Creu Cymru.
